UNIQUE KIDZ & CO

Shrimps’ Manager Jim Bentley & and Director Rod Taylor have recently delivered a cheque for £762.65 to Morecambe based charity Unique Kidz and Co.

The money was raised at the Shrimps’ pre-season friendly match versusLancaster City on 15th July in which over 1,000 fans attended. The proceeds from the charity match were split between the Neil Marshall Memorial Fund and Unique Kidz and Co.

Jim Bentley said; “It was lovely to go there and be part of handing the cheque over to a very worthwhile cause. It was nice to see the people there and we’ll look to go back and see them again in the near future.”

Jane Halpin, Co-Founder of Unique Kidz added; “It was great having Rod and Jim visit Unique Kidz & Co and we were delighted to receive the fantastic donation from the money raised at the Family Fun Day. We are looking forward to developing a lasting partnership with Morecambe Football Club and are so grateful for their support.”

Unique Kidz and Co offer childcare and social activities for disabled Children through their afterschool and holiday clubs. They also run a daytime support service, ‘4Ever Unique’ for young adults aged 16-25 with disabilities.

They have also recently started ‘Stay & Play’, a twice-weekly session for children under 5 to be supported by specialist play workers and a Siblings Group to support young children who have siblings with disabilities.

The Morecambe based centre offers support to over 130 children has been recognised nationally winning various awards and funding from Children in Need.
