Shrimps boss Jim Bentley has spoken of his disappointment over Monday’s SkyBet League 2 fixture versus Cambridge United being postponed.
After the matchday referee declared the pitch at the Globe Arena unplayable on Monday afternoon the Morecambe Manager said; “We're obviously disappointed because we’re in good form and we were looking forward to the game.
“The referee was right to call it off but it was unfortunate. First thing Monday morning the pitch was in need of a little rain but as it turned out the downpour caused the pitch to become waterlogged, which was frustrating but it’s just one of those things you have to accept.
“On the positive side results elsewhere on the day went our way which means we’re no nearer the drop and now have another game in hand.”
