BOSS EXPECTING CARLISLE BATTLE

31 December 2018

SHRIMPS’ boss Jim Bentley says he is expecting an entertaining battle when Carlisle visit the Globe Arena on New Year’s Day.

The Cumbrians visit the resort in the middle of a fine run of form with John Sheridan’s side no doubt eager to avenge a 2-0 defeat against the Shrimps at Brunton Park on October.

Bentley said: “Carlisle are doing fantastically well at the minute. They seem to be on a crest of a wave, playing good football and scoring a lot of goals so it will be a tough game for us.

“Having said that I’m sure their manager John Sheridan will be saying the same thing to his side.

“Our home form has been good of late and we beat them at their place a couple of months ago so it has all the makings of being a really good game.

“There will be a really big crowd I’m sure of that as Carlisle supporters travel in good numbers and I’m sure with it being New Year’s Day that the Morecambe fans will turn up in good numbers too.

“Overall it is a game we are looking forward to. After two tough away games we are looking to get back to winning ways. I’ll be telling the lads to go out and enjoy it and make sure we give them a really tough game.’’
