ANNUAL RLI CHILDREN’S WARD VISIT

19 December 2018

SHRIMPS players made their annual trip to the children’s ward at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary to add a dash of festive cheer on Tuesday afternoon.

The first team squad visited youngsters on the children’s ward and handed out presents donated by supporters and the Shrimps Trust.

Janet Preston from Morecambe FC Community Sports helped organise the visit.

She said: “This is something the club does every year now and this year we were absolutely delighted to be able to deliver a large number of presents

“Unfortunately a large number of youngsters are in hospital over Christmas and our supporters have been really generous and helped us deliver some great presents.

“We want to thank the players for giving their time up and all those who donated presents through the Shrimps Trust.’'

Steve Doran, from the Shrimps Trust, said: "We invited Janet to one of our trustee meetings and discussed ways we could work together with the football club.

“One of the ideas was to support the visit to the children’s ward. The players do it every year and we thought we could help out.

"There was a £250 donation from the Shrimps Trust on behalf of its members and we also put an appeal out for the Port Vale for supporters to bring in some toys and we were overwhelmed by the generosity of our fans.''
