MORECAMBE boss Jim Bentley is urging the community to get behind his side as they face a crunch “six pointer’’ against Forest Green Rovers at the Globe on Saturday.

After last week’s clash with Chesterfield was called off and Forest Green’s victory over Stevenage in midweek Bentley admits this is a “massive’’ game against a side in a similar position to the Shrimps at the wrong end of the table.

Bentley said: “This is a huge game and it is a definite six pointer and that is why we need everyone behind us.

“We need good numbers but we need people behind us on the day too. We can’t have any doom and gloom around the place, we have to all have a positive attitude even if things aren’t going our way in the game.

“No matter what is happening in the 90 minutes we need to all be pulling in the same direction because three points could be absolutely vital.’’

Bentley made the long journey to watch Forest Green beat Stevenage at the New Lawn in midweek and admits his side are in for a tough game.

“Forest Green are a very different looking team now to what they were a few weeks ago,’ he said.

“They have bought well and in Christian Doidge and Reuben Reid have a front two as good as any in League 2 so we know we are in for a tough game. But we know too that on our day we are a match for anyone.

“We know what they are about and we have looked at areas where we can hurt them so we are hoping for a good performance and a vital win.’’
