LANG MISSES OUT ON AWARD

11 January 2018

Callum Lang has missed out on the SkyBet League 2 Player of the Month award for December.

The 19-year-old was nominated along with Lincoln City’s Matt Rhead, Luton Town’s Alan Sheehan and the winner of the award, Colchester United’s Sammie Szmodics.

Lang however is taking the positives from the nomination and hopes to continue his good form.

The Wigan loanee said; “I was buzzing with the nomination to be honest, it’s flattering to have been in there with a shout and it’s good confidence-wise too.

“To start with (at Morecambe) it was so frustrating, I had so many chances where if it were in training or in the 18s (Wigan Athletic U18s) I’d just put it in the net. I got unlucky at times but once I got my first one it felt like a lot of pressure was lifted off my shoulders.

"Hopefully now I can kick on and have another good month."
