OSBORNE RETURNS TO FLEETWOOD

8 January 2018

Elliot Osborne has returned to his parent club Fleetwood Town after completing his loan spell with the Shrimps.

The 21-year-old signed on loan for Morecambe on 9th August and has played 688 minutes in all competitions for the Shrimps.

Jim Bentley was complimentary about the attacking minded midfielder, he said of the Fleetwood man; “Elliot has shown a great attitude in his time with us and has contributed to our first team.

“It wouldn’t be fair to keep him at the club as a young loan player as we feel he wouldn’t play as regularly as he would have liked. I’ve spoken to him and he’s desperate to play week in week out and we have other players in the position he feels he’s best suited.

“We have Aaron Wildig, Adam Campbell and now with Callum Lang playing in a similar position and doing well and we feel he wouldn’t get the game time he would like so it was agreed with Elliot that he looked elsewhere to gain the experience he’s looking for.

“He fitted in well with the group, worked hard and hopefully he kicks on in the second half of the season wherever he may be. I’m sure I speak on behalf of everyone at Morecambe Football Club when thanking him for his contribution and wishing him all the very best for the future.”
