Jim Bentley has shared his disappointment after his side’s last gasp defeat at the hands of Mansfield Town on Saturday.
The Shrimps Boss said; “We’re massively disappointed at the result but we have been doing well, we’ve had some good results and good performances. The lads have been in good spirit.
“Saturday was horrible for everyone but we must learn from it as a group and make sure we don’t feel sorry for ourselves because we have some big games coming up and if you do, this game will kick you while you’re down.”
Morecambe travel to Vale Park on Saturday where a win would see the Shrimps go level on points with the Staffordshire side who are without a win in five league matches.
Bentley continued; “We know what they’re all about, they’re very good at what they do as we saw at our place in October.
“Neil Aspin has improved them since he’s gone in there as manager along with a good friend of mine and Kenny’s, Gary Brabin.
“They’re both winners, very experienced football men and passionate about their club.
“Port Vale have some very good players in their ranks including one of the best strikers in the division in Tom Pope.
“They recently beat Luton comfortably at home which says they’re very capable so we know we need to be at our best, but we also know that we’re very capable of winning this game and need to show we’re hurt from Saturday’s result versus Mansfield and come out fighting.”
