BOSS Jim Bentley praised Kevin Ellison and Aaron McGowan as the both recorded career milestones in the 2-0 win at Grimsby.
Ellison marked his 300th appearance for the Shrimps with the opening goal while McGowan gave a fine defensive performance in his 100th appearance as the Shrimps made it two wins on the bounce.
Jim said: “It’s always nice for players to reach milestones and to cap the day with wins made it all the nicer.
“Kev had such a good game that he got a standing ovation from their fans when he came off at the end and Aaron had an excellent game as he came up against a really tricky player and helped us keep a clean sheet.
“Kev was my first signing and as I’ve said time and time again a great signing.
“He’s 39 soon but full of running and full of desire for the game and a nuisance for the opposition.
“Aaron is still young and to have played 100 games at 21 is a great achievement. He is still young for a defender and will continue to get better and better and it is great to see that he is a young lad who has come through our system to be a regular member of the first team squad.''
