SHRIMPS’ youngster Ben Hedley has signed a new one year deal with the club.

The contract includes an option to exercise an additional year as the academy graduate looks to continue his development.

Hedley signed a professional deal with Morecambe in the summer of 2017 after making his first team debut at Kenilworth Road in the final League 2 fixture of the 2016/17 season.

The physical midfielder spent time on loan with Witton Albion during the first half of the season whilst captaining Stewart Drummond’s reserve side throughout the year, where his performances earned him the Reserve Team Player of the Year award in April.

Hedley said; “I’m obviously buzzing to be back, happy to get another opportunity for the next season.

“Hopefully I can give the gaffer something to think about and try to push to get in the team.

“I’ve missed training while I’ve been off so I can’t wait to get going again and be back amongst the lads.”
