MORECAMBE Football Club is saddened to hear about the death of former player Trevor Webb.
After being spotted playing in the local leagues Trevor joined the Shrimps as a player in December 1963. He was known as a prolific goalscorer but found his first team appearances restricted because of the outstanding form of the legendary Keith Borrowdale.
Trevor was a member of the Shrimps' Combination Cup winning sides in 1964-65 and 1966-67 before moving to Chorley in May 1967.
He later played for Lancaster City and Carnforth Rangers and managed locally with College Wanderers and Lancaster City Reserves before having a spell as assistant manager of Morecambe Reserves.
Trevor later became a director of Lancaster City.
All our thoughts are with his family at this time.
