THE Shrimps host Halifax Town in the FA Cup first round on Saturday afternoon and Jim Bentley is urging his side to take their confidence into the cup tie and progress to the second round.

He said; “It’s a massive game for us, one we’re looking forward to.

“We’re in decent form and Halifax aren’t in the best run of results recently but all that goes out of the window in the FA Cup.

“There will be shocks and upsets up and down the country and we need to make sure we’re not one of them.

“We’re the favourites for the game and if we play like we can do and how we have been doing we’ll give ourselves a good chance of progressing to the next round.

“We’ll have to be at it though, we never underestimate anyone, we’ll pay Halifax the respect that they deserve, they have got good players in the ranks and are a very capable team.

“It will be a tough game for us but we had a good win at home last time out so hopefully it’s more of the same.”
