AARON WILDIG | We need to believe

13 September 2018

MIDFIELDER Aaron Wildig says the Shrimps need to believe they will turn things round after a disappointing start to the league season.

Wildig said the Shrimps should take confidence from recent performances but admits they need to start picking up results as soon as possible.

He said: “The season’s been very disappointing so far. Obviously we’re participating in a results based business and we just haven’t been picking up results.

“If I’m being honest I think that in terms of our performances we have deserved something from six of the nine games we’ve played.

“We have to take some positives from the way we’re playing. It’s very easy for players to lose confidence but if you look at the way we’re playing, the style of play and chances we are creating it’s much better than last season where at times we didn’t look like scoring.

“While that’s not the case so far this season we just need to put the ball in the back of the net. We’re not here for performances. We’re here for results.’’

The Shrimps are now preparing for the long trip to Crawley on Saturday with Wildig saying it is vital his team get a result.

“We’ve got to win,’’ he said.

“There’s no reason why we can’t go there and turn these performances into a result.’’
