Morecambe FC Academy has announced a new partnership to identify talented young players for football scholarships.
The Shrimps are joining forces with Pro Elite Academy and are on the lookout for ex Academy and Development Centre players (U16s & U17s) to attend trials at the end of April.
Stewart Drummond, Morecambe’s Head of Youth explained, “We are always looking at ways to improve the recruitment of players into the Academy and Club; both locally and from further afield.”
“Linking with other centres is a good way for us to identify and monitor players. Pro Elite Academy run a development centre for young players and we hope to offer stand-out talent a pathway into Morecambe Football Club.”
Based in West Yorkshire, Pro Elite Academy is run by ex-professional footballers Lee Elam and Luke Dean. They provide professional and age appropriate training, with elite teams playing in the Nerf Junior Premier League.
Pro Elite operates four tiers covering age groups from 3 – 19 years; training players from the start of their football journey, all the way through to football scholarships for U19s.
The trials will take place on 30th April and are aimed at U16s and U17s players who have previously been signed to an Academy or Development Centre and are interested in pursuing a football scholarship.
