A-Jay Leitch-Smith says it was a great feeling to be back on the pitch after making a welcome return to first team action on Saturday.
The striker was a second half substitute against Exeter on Saturday to get his first taste of competative action after more than six months out through injury.
He said: “It was nice to be back as it has been a while.
"I had a little setback in pre-season so it took a bit longer than we hoped but it was good to be back on the pitch.
"I enjoyed it and got the ball a little bit and I thought we deserved something from the game especially after our second half performance.
“Our second goal was fantastic with about 20 odd passes in there and that is the type of football we have been working on in pre-season and in training. We probably haven’t seen it as much as we would want to yet but the goal showed what we are capable of.
“It was good playing with Shaun Miller again too. I played a lot with Shaun when we were at Crewe together and we are on each other’s wavelength and hopefully that is a partnership we can build on.''
