BOSS HOPEFUL OF OLIVER RETURN

26 January 2019

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley is hoping that Vadaine Oliver will be back in contention for the Shrimps when they take on Northampton Town this afternoon.

Oliver has missed the last two games through injury but has trained this week and is set to be included in the squad for the visit to Sixfields.

Bentley said: “Vadaine has been doing well and we are hoping he is OK and back in contention. His injury came at a bad time as we lost A-Jay Leitch-Smith on the same day we agreed to sell Jason Oswell and we have been short of attacking options so we will be really pleased to have him back.

“The squad has been pretty depleted of late but we are also hoping Carlos Mendes-Gomes will be available too after suffering from tonsillitis. He has trained this week as well but we will keep a close eye on how he is.’’
