CONLAN SET FOR 100TH SHRIMPS APPEARANCE

18 January 2019

MORECAMBE defender Luke Conlan is set for his 100th appearance for the club against Stevenage this weekend.

The popular left back, who joined the Shrimps from Burnley three years ago, says he is looking forward to reaching the milestone.

He said: “It’s taken a while to get here but it’s nice to reach the 100 game mark for the club and I hope there’s many more to come.

“It took me a while to become firmly established in the side but I have been playing pretty regularly now for the past year and a half and feel much more settled now.

“Personal milestones are nice but at the end of the day it is all about the points and it would be great to mark the occasion with a win.’’

The one thing missing for Conlan is a goal.

“I have gone close a few times and had a great chance at Mansfield last year but I’m still waiting.

"I had one cleared off the line by Tom Barkhuizen away at Luton in my loan spell here too, I think he was trying to nick it and ended up turning it over the bar.

“Again it would be perfect if the goal came this weekend – though I’m not sure how I’d celebrate if I did get one.’’
