HALSTEAD ON NORTHAMPTON POINT

30 January 2019

MORECAMBE keeper Mark Halstead says he thought the Shrimps were unfortunate not to take the full three points at Northampton on Saturday.

The Shrimps’ stopper, who made several important blocks in the game, said: "Saturday was a good point.

“We didn’t start too well, I made one or two saves as they put us under pressure but in the second half we came out fighting and we could have gone on to win the game.

"I always thought that if anyone was going to win the game after we pulled it back to 1-1 it was going to be us.

"I wasn’t really troubled after our goal and I thought we were gong to win it but unfortunately we didn’t.

"Now we go to Oldham on Saturday and we need to look to go there and put some wrongs right after they beat us 2-0 at the Globe Arena.

"They beat us 2-0 at our place when they only really had two shots on target so we need to go there with confidence.''
