YARNEY RETURNS TO NEWCASTLE

8 January 2019

JOSEF Yarney has passed on his thanks to the Shrimps after his loan spell ended this week.

The 21-year-old played 25 times for the Shrimps after joining on loan from Newcastle and said he enjoyed his first taste of senior football.

Jo said: "The aim when I came here was to play as many games as I could.

"I played more than 20 games so I couldn’t ask for any more and I really enjoyed the experience.

“The high point was definitely the Northampton game where we went down to 10 men and hung for the win with Alex Kenyon in goals.

“It was a great game and they really put us under the cosh in the final stages but we hung on for the win. It was my first win as a Football League player and it was a game I will never forget.’’.

Yarney is now back with Newcastle and is hoping for more senior football.

“I’ll go back and see what opportunities are there for me. It might mean another loan spell but whatever happens I will always look back with good memories of my spell at Morecambe.''
