KENYON DISAPPOINTED BY NORTHAMPTON DRAW

31 January 2019

SHRIMPS’ midfielder Alex Kenyon says his side need to take confidence from their draw at Northampton on Saturday.

Looking back at the game he said: "Saturday was a positive result and we could have gone on to get the win in the end.

"We were actually left disappointed not to get the winner to be honest and that is a goods sign as it shows how committed we are to get some wins under our belt.

“We are struggling for wins and although I’m sure most people would have taken a point at Northampton normally we were all left a bit disappointed.’'

The Shrimps’ early kick-off meant that they had to sit back and watch the results of games around them to see how the league table would change.

He said: "It was Strange on Saturday because at the end of our game Macclesfield were winning 2-0 and we were in the bottom two.

“But 45 minutes later Macclesfield had lost and we had moved up the table which was much better.

“It's very tight down there and we need to get a couple of wins to jump us up the table. Cheltenham did that on Saturday and they moved up a few places and that is what we have to look at doing too.''
