VADAINE Oliver has suffered cartilage damage to his right knee and will undergo surgery, which will see the forward sidelined for up to eight weeks.
Physiotherapist Simon Farnworth revealed: "Vadaine landed quite heavily onto his right knee in the game on Saturday, which resulted in some swelling in the knee.
"He went for a scan on Monday, which shows a tear to the lateral meniscus so he'll have an operation on Monday."
Boss Jim Bentley added: "It's terrible news for us, he's been out with an ankle injury but came back in on Saturday and I thought he played very well.
"He had a good understanding with Richie Bennett up there and they were looking good together but this just sums our season up.
"We initially thought it would be a couple of weeks but it turns out to be a couple of months we'll be missing him so it's a devastating blow for us and also to Vadaine."
