BENTLEY PLEASED WITH PERFORMANCE AT BAMBER BRIDGE

14 July 2019

Shrimps boss Jim Bentley was pleased with his side's performance at Bamber Bridge on Saturday afternoon where Cole Stockton's goals either side of half time earned the Shrimps a 2-0 victory.

Bentley said: "The performance was pleasing and it's nice to get a result.

"Cole's double will do him the world of good and there was some decent stuff played, there's lots to be positive about today but there are things we still need to work on.

"We're still only a couple of weeks into our pre-season programme and we know through experience that it is a steady process.

"Hopefully we'll continue to move forward in a positive manner but obviously one massive negative from the game is the injury to A-Jay Leitch-Smith.

"Fingers crossed that it's not as bad as it looks, he's worked really hard to come back from his injury and is in great shape so hopefully he won't be out for too long."
