SHRIMPS’ Co-Chairman, Graham Howse, has thanked fans and local businesses for their support after a great response to a recent appeal for training equipment funds.
Mr Howse made an appeal for more than £5,000 to buy much-needed training equipment for the players and he says he has been “overwhelmed’’ by the generosity of supports and businesses who have answered the call.
He said: “Following my plea for help with funding important fitness equipment for the players I am thrilled to say the response has been excellent and with some healthy discount from suppliers we are almost there with just a further £500 now needed from the original request of £5,500.
“I am overwhelmed by the support we have had. We have spoken about a real feel-good factor surrounding the club at the moment and this has really shown that to be true and we are all immensely grateful for the support we have received.
“We need just £500 and if anyone can help get us over the line I would be delighted to hear from them.’’
Some of the money has been used for spin bikes which have arrived at the club today and will be well used by everyone at the club.
