BENTLEY DISAPPOINTED WITH DEFEAT - BUT RESULTS NOT PRIORITY AT THIS STAGE

11 July 2019

Jim Bentley admits that Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at Broadhurst Park was disappointing but the result was not the priority at this stage.

The Shrimps boss said: "We're obviously disappointed.

"We want to win every game and this one was no different. We want that feel-good factor so it was disappointing to lose the game and the way we conceded the goals.

"Despite that, the most important thing at this stage is getting the lads back on the pitch, getting the minutes in, getting fit and familiarising with how each other play.

"While I was disappointed in some of our play, I was really excited by other parts. On another day the scoreline could have been completely different, especially if we took a couple of our chances but as I say, that's not the most important thing at this stage.

"We need to take the positives from it and make sure we have things in place to help us improve with and without the ball for the next game.

"It's a good wake-up call for us that there is work to be done. A little knock-back now and again does you no harm and I'm sure we'll respond in the right way."
