OLIVER HOWSE JOINS MEDICAL STAFF

1 July 2019

THE Shrimps have a new member of their backroom staff.

Olly Howse has joined the club’s sports therapy department where he will work with the Shrimps’ established physio Simon Farnworth.

The son of co-chairman, Graham Howse, Oliver has extensive experience after spells with clubs including Barrow, Bamber Bridge and Blackpool’s youth academy.

Olly said: "It's good to be back within the first team, I was on placement with them in the 2013/14 season so it's nice to be back where it all started.

"Simon Farnworth phoned me towards the end of last season and told me there may be an opportunity for me to come in. I was working with Barrow at the time and I was made up to be considered for the role at my hometown club.

"I've been a supporter of the club for 28 years so it means a lot to be part of the backroom staff and I'm excited for the season ahead."

Simon Farnworth added: "We've known Olly for many years.

“He's worked with Janet Preston and the club’s Community Sports team and spent time with me a few years ago so we know how he works and he's a perfect replacement for Gareth Thomas who left at the end of last season.''
