COLLINS HIGH ON CONFIDENCE

15 March 2019

AARON Collins says has been high on confidence since moving to Morecambe and hopes to continue his run of form.

The 21-year-old joined the Shrimps on 9th February and has since scored four goals in six appearances.

He said: "It continues to go well for me and I'm hoping it carries on for the rest of the season.

"More importantly though we're getting good results, I was buzzing that we beat Forest Green and MK Dons because I think they're two of the best sides in the division so to come away with 3-0 and 4-2 wins was huge.

"I feel like every time I go on the pitch I'm confident, I feel that I'm going to score and I'm hoping to keep the run going for as long as I can."

Collins scored Morecambe's 4th goal in the 4-2 victory over MK Dons on Tuesday night, with the Shrimps under high amounts of pressure from the visitors who were trailing by just the single goal after being 3-0 down on the hour mark.

With just one goal in it going into the final five minutes and a strong wind in the Shrimps' face, coupled with the news that Notts County were leading at Brunton Park, Collins eased the nerves at the Globe Arena with a superb counter-attacking goal.

He added: "I started my run as soon as Kev (Kevin Ellison) looked as if we was favourite to win the diagonal ball, his first touch pass was brilliant into Benno (Richie Bennett) and at that point, I was screaming for him to put it in behind.

"He put a perfect ball into the space that held up just enough so the keeper couldn't get to it so I just composed myself and took it round him to finish."
