WE'RE BACK AT HOME WHERE OUR FORM IS GOOD

29 March 2019

SHRIMPS centre-back Steven Old says the defeat at Swindon was a frustrating afternoon for him and his teammates.

The 33-year-old admitted Swindon were by far the better side on the day and Morecambe must put the game behind them.

He said: "It was a strange match, right from the kick-off.

"Swindon were class on the day on a very good pitch and they had a game plan, which they executed perfectly.

"We had chances in the early stages of the match and it would probably have been a very different game if we'd put one or two of those away but it wasn't to be and it turned out to be a frustrating afternoon for us.

"On the day, very little went our way and we ended up getting beat comfortably."

The Shrimps are back at home on Saturday afternoon as they host Crawley Town and with consecutive victories against Forest Green Rovers and MK Dons respectively at the Globe Arena, Old hopes that Morecambe can take confidence into the weekend.

He continued: "We need to get our heads back on it, we're back at home, we're happy at home lately so long may that continue.

"If we can get the crowd up and really go for the win we can put Swindon behind us and move on up the table."
