THE awards were spread out at the Shrimps’ annual player of the season awards.

Zak Mills was the big winner on the night with three awards including the Supporters’ Player of the Year award, the Visitor Player of the Year and the Junior Reds Player of the Year awards.

Mark Halstead was also a winner taking home the coveted Players’ Player of the Year and the Sardines Player of the Year awards.

Steve Doran won the Club Person of the Year award for his efforts to promote the Shrimps while Michael Brooks was given a signed, framed short for his volunteering work to help the grounds staff.

Speaking on the evening co-chairman, Rod Taylor, said: “This season I’ve got to say the job that Jim and the backroom staff have been done is phenomenal.

"It is no secret we work on the lowest budget on the league and we are always looking to improve but we are going into our 13th season in the Football League and that is phenomenal.''

He also praised the fans saying: “This year our average crowd was more than 2,000 for the first time in a few years.

“There is a real feel good factor around the town at the moment and we want to be a massive part of that.’'

The winners were:

Club person of the year: Steve Doran
Academy player of the year: Under 17s: Freddie Price. Under 18s: Toby Twiname.
Reserves Player of the year: Tyler Brownsword.
Junior Reds Player of the year: Zak Mills.
Community Sports player of the year: Kevin Ellison

The Visitor player of the year: Zak Mills
Sardines Player of the year: Mark Halstead
Supporters player of the year: Zak Mills
Golden Boot: Aaron Collins
Players’ player of the year: Mark Halstead.
Goal of the season: Jordan Cranston v Tranmere
