CONLAN DELIGHTED TO GET OFF THE MARK

15 November 2019

SHRIMPS’ defender Luke Conlan said he was delighted to score his first goal for the club in midweek.

The left back opened his account for the club with the third goal in the 3-1 win and admitted it was a moment he will remember for some time. He said: “I’ve been after my first goal for some time but for one reason or another it hasn’t come.

“On Tuesday the ball fell nicely for me and I surprised myself how cleanly I hit it.

“It was great to see it fly in I must admit but to be honest I didn’t really know how to celebrate and I got a bit of stick from the lads.

“It was worth it though and it was good to come back the way we did and win the game.

“We can hopefully take the confidence we got from the win into Saturday’s game at Crawley and build on our win over Orient in our last league game.”
