TANNER ENJOYING SHRIMPS LOAN

6 November 2019

George Tanner has admitted he didn't expect so much game time when joining the Shrimps on loan from Manchester United in August but is pleased with the experience he's gaining.

Tanner, 19, has made 17 appearances, playing over 1600 minutes for the Shrimps and the full-back is pleased with his progress during the loan spell.

"I feel I've done well and things are coming together for the team," said Tanner.

"I'm sure more results will come, we just need to focus on winning games, whether we're playing well or not.

"I wasn't expecting to come in and play the number of games I have done, I guess I just hit some form and it's worked out for me.

"Coming into League Two I didn't know an awful lot about the level, I watch a lot of football but my knowledge of League Two I'd say was limited.

"I've tried to learn from each game, I had to learn quickly too because it's so physical.

"Within the games, it's such fine margins between winning and losing. There's not a lot of difference between playing one of the top teams or one of the bottom teams.

"It's just about taking your chances, making the most of set pieces, things like that are so important because anyone can beat anyone in this league."
