WE'LL DUST OURSELVES OFF AND GO AGAIN

27 November 2019

Tom Brewitt says the Shrimps must move on from what was a "very negative game" for the club at the weekend.

The Shrimps suffered their first defeat under Derek Adams on Saturday afternoon at Gresty road, losing 5-0 to Crewe Alexandra.

"It was very negative from our point of view," said Brewitt, "there weren't many if any positives to take from the game but we'll dust ourselves off and go again."

"Crewe are a top team and I wouldn't bet against them going up automatically this season, they're the best footballing side we've come up against so we'll move onto the next game.

"We need to beat the teams around us, and one of those teams are Carlisle who we have next."

The Shrimps host Carlisle United on 7th December in a fixture that often sees a bumper crowd at the Globe Arena.

Least season's encounter saw 1700 Carlisle United fans make the short journey down the M6 for the New Years Day fixture, making the total attendance for the game 3749.

Brewitt continued: "We should thrive off the increased attendance. Whether it's more away fans or home fans in the ground, it creates an atmosphere and we should thrive off the energy so hopefully, we'll be able to use that to our advantage."
