Community Sports' weekly Tuesday Night Football sessions have proved successful through the first school term.
Morecambe FC Community Sports’ weekly Tuesday Night Football sessions began anew in early September, focusing on delivering tailored sessions for children that might not have that much footballing experience between the ages of 4 to 8.
Tuesday Night Football has always proved popular within the community, so we are pleased to see that numbers have continued to grow throughout the past term with plenty of new children attending to give it a go.
The sessions take place at the Bay Leadership Academy’s indoor tensile from 17:30-18:30pm every Tuesday evening throughout term time.
Priced at just £3 per person for the hour, it’s a great platform for children to begin playing football or those that perhaps don’t have too much experience but would like to play in a fun, non-competitive environment.
Throughout the past five weeks, the children have learned the important aspects of football- taking part in fun skill games and challenges that have worked on their dribbling and ball control, passing, shooting and also their team working skills.
Since the first session we have seen the participants come along in leaps and bounds; originally beginning with the basics including our dribbling technique, ensuring that we look up when travelling with the ball and also how we should be passing the correct way.
For this weeks session, we were able to put together everything that the children had learned so far into specific footballing drills which worked effectively.
Overall, it’s been a great first term of the Tuesday Night Football sessions and we are thoroughly looking forward to getting things going again in a few weeks time on Tuesday 29th October.
