Joe Lynch says he is 'made up' to have made his first team debut in the Leasing.comTrophy at Blackpool mid-week.
The 19-year-old was a second half substitute, replacing Aaron Wildig in the 66th minute of the game.
The young midfielder starred in the Shrimps' 2-1 victory over Rochdale in last week's Lancashire Senior Cup tie at the Globe and the ex-Crewe academy player is pleased with his progress.
Speaking after the defeat at Blackpool, Lynch said: "We're all disappointed about the result obviously, but I didn't think it was a 5-1 game at all but it happens and we have to move on and get a better result on Saturday.
"On a personal level though, I have to thank Jim and Ken for giving me the chance. It's nice to be rewarded after working hard and for them to put me in tonight, I can't thank them enough."
