THERE'S ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT

9 September 2019

SHRIMPS boss Jim Bentley said his side showed spirit and resilience in their 2-2 draw with Salford.

The Shrimps’ manager said Salford’s first ever visit to the Globe was an “eventful’’ clash that his side "could have lost, or could have won.'’

After “It was a very eventful game with plenty of positives from us and plenty of negatives. It was one of those eventful games we could have won but on another day we could have lost but we will take the point and move on.

“It was another game where we were punished for almost every mistake we made but some of our football was excellent at times and I don’t think we get the credit we deserve at times and we scored two excellent goals.

“I’m really pleased for Shaun Miller who got off the mark with a really worked goal and it was great to see Lewis Alessandra take his tally to five for the season already.

“They came back into it as we knew they would and got back into it with a rare mistake from Barry Roche but I’m really pleased that he was able to make amends with a brilliant penalty save at the death.

“The lads have given their absolute all and competed well with one of the favourites for the division, there's room for improvement but there's also plenty to be positive about moving forward.''
