LAVELLE DESPERATE FOR TURNING POINT

26 September 2019

SAM Lavelle says his team mates are desperate for the Shrimps to get to winning ways this Saturday after a recent run of poor results.

The central defender says the players are doing all they can to pick up form after what he admitted was a disappointing week that saw defeats against Scunthorpe, Walsall and Oldham.

He said: “The lads do see things on social media with some people saying they are not trying and it does hurt them.

“We have a really good set of lads here and I can guarantee that every single one of them is giving their absolute all in training and in games.

“We all know we are in a bad run and we are desperate to get out of it.

“We knew last week looked like it could be three very winnable games but it didn’t go to plan

“It was clear there was a bit of a lack of quality at Oldham and some below par performances, including me, but we can’t dwell on that now and we have to look forward and make sure we do all we can to get three points on Saturday.

“We need to stay positive because I’m sure there will be a turning point in our season but we know it needs to be sooner rather than later.’’
