MORECAMBE have signed Congo international goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi on loan from Blackpool until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old was born in Roubaix in northern France and spent time in the youth setups of both Lens and Lille as a youngster.
He gained experience in the fourth tier of French football with Lens B and Le Pontet before his first move abroad.
Bulgarian side Vereya signed him in 2015 but he found first-team chances hard to come by and he joined Free State Stars in South Africa a year later.
He arrived in England in the summer of 2017, signing a two-year deal with Blackpool.
On the international scene, Mafoumbi has represented Congo since making his debut seven years ago and was part of their squad for the 2015 African Nations Cup, where they reached the quarter-finals.
