PREVIEW | Morecambe v Port Vale

13 January 2020

The Shrimps face John Askey's Port Vale at the Globe Arena on Tuesday night as Derek Adams looks to lift his side further from the relegation zone after climbing above Stevenage with the point earned against Colchester United on Saturday.

The Valiants played their part in Morecambe's rise in league position, as Tom Pope's 88th-minute penalty was enough to take all three points against Stevenage on Saturday afternoon.

The result saw Vale's unbeaten run in the league extend to six matches, bouncing back from consecutive defeats in the FA Cup and the Leasing.com Trophy.

Derek Adams will be hoping his side carry their encouraging performance from Saturday into Tuesday's game, the Shrimps boss said: "Port Vale have had a busy week, they had an FA Cup tie against Manchester City last Saturday, they played Salford in the Leasing.com Trophy midweek and will come to the Globe Arena off the back of a good win against Stevenage this Saturday.

"We're coming into the game after a good performance ourselves. We feel that with the chances we created against Colchester we should have won the match but we're looking forward to the Port Vale game because it gives us another opportunity to play at home."
