SIX Morecambe players have signed new contracts for next season.
Carlos Mendes-Gomes, Aaron Wildig, Cole Stockton, Alex Kenyon, Jordan Slew and youngster Freddie Price, who has been given his first professional contract, have all signed new one-year contracts for the Shrimps.
Of the seven players offered new deals only Steven Old has declined the offer to return.
Manager, Derek Adams, said he was delighted to see the six sign on for next season.
He said: “We offered seven contracts to our out of contract players, including under 18s player, Freddie Price.
“I'm delighted to announce that six of the seven players have decided to sign for us again.
“Steven Old has decided to make the move back north to be closer to his family so has not taken up our offer.
“It's excellent news that Carlos Gomes, Aaron Wildig, Cole Stockton, Alex Kenyon, Jordan Slew and Freddie Price will all be with us for next season.
“We have now signed 12 senior professionals and two first-year pros for our squad for the coming season.
“I would like to add eight new players to get our squad up to 20 senior professionals and two first-year pros for the start of the season.
“This would include permanent and loan signings.’’
