MORECAMBE co-chairman, Rod Taylor, said he has been “overwhelmed’’ by the reaction to the club’s crowdfunding fee appeal.
The club launched the appeal this week looking to raise £20,000 to support it through the Coronavirus pandemic and has seen more than £11,500 pledged in just seven days.
It is a response that has delighted Mr Taylor who said: “The Board of Directors has been humbled and overwhelmed by the Initial response to the appeal.
“The support from fans has been amazing and to pass £11,500 so quickly with almost 200 fans backing the campaign is incredible and we cannot thank everyone enough.
“The launch of the centenary crest and kit has no doubt helped boost the fund and the response to these has been fantastic too.
“We are living in exceptional circumstances at the moment but the fans and the community has shown its support and we hope that continues over the next few weeks and months.”
The appeal has a host of options including pre-ordering the Shrimps’ new centenary replica kit or booking match experience packages.
