Sam Lavelle has praised his teammates' character as they came from a goal down to earn a valuable point at the Mazuma Stadium.
The point leaves the Shrimps one point outside the play-off places and the Morecambe skipper believes it could have been three points.
"I thought we did well second half despite the conditions," said Lavelle.
"We should have scored more than the one we did, and I think if the game carries on for another five minutes we win it.
"We were unlucky with the penalty, Kelvin's apologised to everyone which shows his character, he's been class for us the last few games.
"Other than the penalty they didn't really have anything and although we didn't play our best first half we were on top in the game so to go down 1-0 was tough to take.
"The lads showed great character though, it was important we responded well but also to stayed organised at the back and not get carried away.
"Freddie came on and did well, he's played a great ball for the goal and had a few chances as well.
"We see him in training all the time putting those away and he's one of the best finishers at the club so when he had the chance late on I thought it was in. As it was the keeper's made a great save despite us not getting the corner."
