HARRY DAVIS | "We weren't good enough in that 30 minute spell"

19 October 2020

Harry Davis says the Shrimps are looking forward to Tuesday’s game against Mansfield as they look to get over the disappointment of the 4-0 defeat at Crawley on Saturday.

Four second-half goals gave Crawley the points at the weekend with Davis admitting that his side are desperate to put things right as soon as possible.

He said: "In the end, a bad half an hour cost us the game on Saturday.

"For the first half there wasn’t much in it and we probably had the better of the chances that were produced. We didn’t take them and then in the second-half, we had a bad 30 minutes. Every chance they had seemed to go in.

"We weren't good enough in that 30-minute spell. There were some individual errors that they made the most of and it was a little bit too easy for them and we need to put it right on Tuesday.

"The key moment was when Carlos was brought down and they could have gone down to 10 men but the assistant gave an offside which we were all a bit surprised about.

"It was a vital moment because from there they went on to make it 2-0 soon afterwards.

"We have to learn from that and look to get back to winning ways against Mansfield.

"It will be tough because they are a good side with good players at this level who can cause us problems but we have shown already this season the damage we can do to other teams and will go out fighting, looking to build on the excellent win over Port Vale last time out at home.

"We know good home form is going to be important to us and that is very much what we will be aiming for on Tuesday.''
