NEW signing Yann Songo’o says he us delighted to team up with boss Derek Adams for the third time in his career.
The midfielder, who made his full debut for the Shrimps at Salford in midweek joined the club last week and meets up again with a manager who also signed him for Ross County and Plymouth Argyle.
Songo’o, 28, said: "It feels great to be here. I've known the gaffer for a few years and I’ve played with some of the lads before. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the club and hopefully, we can have a great season.
"It’s been strange since lockdown and hard for all footballers. On a personal level I’ve been working hard on my own and with a personal trainer so have been running nearly every day to keep fit and be as ready as possible to play football again once I joined a club.
Talking about joining the Shrimps he said: "I had a few options but I wanted to stay in the UK and it was important I made the right move.
"I didn’t play as many games as I wanted at Scunthorpe last season so it is great to be here and hopefully get some games.
“I also wanted to play for the gaffer again. This is my third time working with him and we have a good relationship. I know his style and he knows what I can do and I’ve always enjoyed playing for him.''
Asked to describe himself as a player Yann added: “I am a player who does the job other players don’t always like to do. I like to be aggressive and win tackles and do everything I can to protect the back four and the midfield to let them do their jobs.''
