DEREK ADAMS | It's Extremely Tight

30 April 2021

Derek Adams' side travel to Banks's Stadium this Saturday afternoon in the final away fixture of the Shrimps' Sky Bet League Two campaign.

After winning just one of their first 20 fixtures post Christmas, Walsall have found their form in April winning three of their last five games.

The Shrimps are still in the mix for an automatic promotion spot, trailling third placed Bolton Wanderers by four points and second placed Cambridge United by five.

"We've got two games remaining and we're looking forward to the run-in," added the Shrimps boss.

"It's extremely tight from second all the way down to ninth and we're in a strong position.

"We know the points required to get us either automatic promotion or secure ourselves in the play-offs.

"We played very well last year at Walsall, it was a great victory for us on a Tuesday night. We scored late in the game to make it 2-0 and put the game to bed.

"We've drawn against them since then at the Mazuma Stadium earlier this season, they have since had a change of Manager."

Brian Dutton was appointed Head Coach of Walsall in February following the departure of Darrell Clarke.

Dutton has won three, drawn seven and lost seven of his 17 matches in charge of the Saddlers.
