Bartercard confirmed as shorts sponsor for 2021/22 season

6 August 2021

Morecambe Football Club is delighted to extend its partnership with Bartercard for our forthcoming Sky Bet League One campaign and their logo will now feature on the back of our home and away shorts for the season ahead.

Bartercard, who also sponsor our west stand at the Mazuma Stadium, offer a barter-trading system for businesses to exchange goods and services within a global community. They acts as a third-party record keeper to enable SMEs to purchase goods and services by utilising “Trade Pounds” as a currency across their global network of businesses.

Chris Kirby, Managing Director at Bartercard, is excited to build on the relationship between the company and the club.

“It's an absolute pleasure to extend and further our partnership with Morecambe Football Club,” he said.

“Bartercard is excited to see our brand displayed on the club's shorts, and we are looking forward to working with the club off the field and supporting them on it.

“Working with Morecambe and Martin [Thomas] is a great honour for us, and we are looking forward to getting back into the grounds.

"The next few months promise to be extremely exciting, and we look forward to delivering several beneficial campaigns to the Morecambe fans."

Martin Thomas, who has been the club’s Commercial Manager since April 2019, believes the growing relationship can benefit both parties.

“We’re delighted to be growing our relationship with Bartercard,” he said.

“We’ve enjoyed a very healthy and successful working relationship with Chris [Kirby] and the Bartercard team since they came onboard almost 12 months ago, we are very much looking forward to the next chapter of this partnership.

“To have such a wonderful business like Bartercard represented on our official match kit is a huge opportunity for Morecambe Football Club and we thank them for their continued support.”
