Crewe Alexandra game postponed as Shrimps trio called up for international duty

24 August 2021

Our Sky Bet League One fixture against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday 4 September 2021 has been postponed due to international call-ups from Stephen Robinson’s side.

Goalkeeper Jokull Andresson has been named in Iceland’s U21s squad that will face Belarus and Greece respectively, in their Group D fixtures as they look to qualify for the U21s European Championships in 2023.

Also in U21 qualifying action is Josh McPake, as he turns out for Scotland in their game against Turkey in Group I.

The final player to be called up from the Shrimps ranks is on-loan Leeds United man, Alfie McCalmont.

The 21-year-old has been named in Northern Ireland’s U21s squad for their qualifying games against Malta and Slovakia U21s respectively.

A rearranged date for the postponed Crewe Alexandra game will be confirmed in due course.
