New loan signing Brad Lyons said making his debut in the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge at the weekend was a “dream come true.’’
The 23-year-old, who joined last week from Blackburn Rovers, came off the bench on Sunday to make his first appearance in a Shrimps shirt and he enjoyed every minute of the occasion.
Lyons said: “It was unbelievable to get on the pitch and to make my FA Cup debut on an occasion like that is the stuff dreams are made of.
“It is great to be here and I’m looking forward to getting involved in the league action.
"We many not be playing one of the biggest teams in England every week but every game in the league is just as important to us. Every game matters and we want to give it a big push until the end of the season.
“I’ve come from the Development League of Under 23s and I’m looking forward to getting a taste of league football which is so competitive where it is all about getting the three points.
“In the Development League you want to win but it is about the performance and the development of players. There are a lot of good games in the Development League because there are a lot of good payers and although it may not be as physical you have to be switched on all the time because there are so many good players who can hurt you.''
