Derek Adams says Morecambe’s lack of a clinical finish in front of goal was the reason behind their 2-0 defeat at Orient.
The home side enjoyed the greater share of possession but it was the Shrimps who had the clearer chances until the home side clinched the points with two goals in the final two minutes of the game.
Adams said: “We had a number of big opportunities with Carlos Mendes Gomes in the first half and Yann Songo’o, Aaron Wildig and Brad Lyons in the second half making it five good chances on goal.
“At the same time we limited Orient to very little and that was my game plan. We allowed them to have the ball at the back and pass the ball between their two centre halves but they got a bit fortunate and scored from an own goal when we headed a cross into our own net.
“It looked like they wouldn’t get a goal, in general play we were very good I thought and should have been ahead.
“It’s a shame because we have been on a fantastic run and we are still in ninth position so we will have to look to put it behind us as soon as possible on Tuesday.’'
