The Shrimps have bolstered its ranks with the addition of midfielder Shane McLoughlin on a one-year deal.
The 24-year-old, who progressed through the youth system at Ipswich Town, enjoyed a loan spell at Bromley before securing a permanent move to AFC Wimbledon in 2019.
McLoughlin, who spent two-and-a-half years at Plough Lane, making 81 appearances for The Dons, has also represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level, picking up three caps for the under 16’s and the under 18’s respectively.
The versatile midfielder, who was born in New York City before moving to Kerry in Ireland at the age of five, admits he is relishing the challenge ahead.
“I’m looking forward to getting started,” McLoughlin said.
“We’re a couple of weeks into pre-season now so I’m glad that I’ve signed up and I’m going to get ready for the start of the season.
“I’m a high energy player, I like to work hard and get stuck in if I can, I’m not the biggest but I like to get stuck in and hopefully score some goals and assists as well.”
Shrimps’ boss Stephen Robinson said: “Technically a very good midfielder who showed his versatility last season by excelling as a right back for AFC Wimbledon.
“He brings League One experience and adds massive competition for places in a key area of our team.”
