VACANCY - ACADEMY SCOUTS

Morecambe Football Club is looking to recruit to the following positions within the Club’s Category 3 Academy:

Morecambe Football Club Academy wishes to recruit Scouts on a casual basis, to watch football in the North West of England, for players aged U7-U16 years. Due to the ad hoc nature of the role, the candidate will need to be based in, or close to, the North West of England.

This is a voluntary position. As the role is a casual one, games will be assigned on an ad-hoc basis which can be accepted or declined.

The Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) is a long-term plan introduced by the Premier League to promote the development of a world-leading Academy system. It aims to deliver an environment that promotes excellence, nurtures talent and systematically converts this talent into professional players capable of playing first team football at the Club that develops them. Within the plan, professional Clubs are awarded a categorisation for their Academy, depending on their ability to fulfil the criteria outlined above. Our Academy has been awarded Category Three status.

Scouts are required to assist with scouting and recruitment, providing comprehensive coverage of local Football, in order to identify realistic recruitment targets for Morecambe Football Club Academy. The successful candidate will complete detailed scouting reports, to help identify players for Morecambe Football Club Academy.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of scouting experience.

Essential Criteria

  • Knowledge of local football in the North West of England
  • Experience or background as a football Scout
  • Self-motivated and committed
  • A strategic planner, organiser and co-ordinator
  • Confident with the ability to work independently and as part of a successful team
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Full driving licence
  • FA Talent ID Level 1 (or willingness to undertake)
  • FA Safeguarding Certificate
