GENERAL MANAGER APPOINTED

10 June 2021

Morecambe Football Club is delighted to welcome Ben Sadler to the club in the role of General Manager overseeing all non-footballing operations.

Ben will lead and manage all non-football activities and operations after spending four highly successful years at Harrogate Town AFC.

During his time at Harrogate Ben played a key role in the running of the club as it rose from the National League North to League Two.

He was instrumental to the development of the stadium, increasing capacity while improving both fan engagement and the matchday experience and he was a tireless force in striving to improve everything that he was responsible for.

Ben also played a role in setting up and growing the Harrogate Town Ladies team while overseeing the rapid growth of the club's non-football operations and staff.  A firm believer in the importance of good leadership and efficient process, Ben was instrumental in ensuring that the business of the club grew to keep pace with success on the field.

Director, James Wakefield, said: "Ben joins us at a hugely exciting time. His appointment is critical to the evolution of the club as we strive to improve every single aspect of our operations in support of the club's recently accelerated vision and strategy to be sustainable and competitive in League One.

"We ran a thorough process to find the best possible General Manager and we were really impressed with Ben. His values match ours, he is a born leader, who is driven, determined and incredibly hard-working. We can't wait for him to start on Monday."

Ben Sadler commented: “I am delighted to be joining Morecambe Football Club as the club embarks on its first ever season in League 1. We will be looking to capitalise on the success of 2020-21 by refining, improving and driving forwards the off-field operations, to ensure they are befitting and supportive of a sustainable League 1 club.

“From the moment I first met the board and staff, I knew that this was a progressive and forward-thinking organisation that I wanted to be a part of. These are exciting times for the club and its’ supporters, and I cannot wait to get going!”.
